Main thing preventing a parent to start this project with the baby is fear. Fear is a universal creativity killer, I myself have lots of fear as a professional artist, when I want to start a work of art. Fear leads to doubts, procrastinations, insecurities and ultimately failure to start, to continue or to finish a creative project. I am not a psychologist, but I know from experience how fear can stall me in my creative endeavours. In this case it would be fear of dirty baby, messing up environment, fear of wasting art materials, spending too much money for nothing, wasting time, wasting too much personal energy. Once you overcome it and actually start, you will see that the dragons are not as big as you imagined them, that all of it logically manageable, and minor accidents are not a train smash in a big scheme of events. Your baby will get in acrylics from top to bottom, and you will get full of acrylics too. Your baby will splash all over and create a wonderful colourful mess, she will drop a couple of buckets of paint and will miss a canvas, trying to spray paint. She will spoil that brush and ruin that item, but many years from now, when you look at her large abstracts on the wall, all of those “dirty inconvenience things” will be such minor details. You and your baby will have lots of fun – guaranteed. He will create amazing unforgettable artworks and his brain will benefit from this early creativity session. Drop your fear now and start. You will never regret it.
